Calibrating Pressure Advance in OrcaSlicer, PrusaSlicer, Creality Print, and Klipper

John Schneider

OrcaSlicer and its versions

Applies to OrcaSlicer, Snapmaker Orca, ElegooSlicer, Qidi Studio, and AnycubicSlicerNext.

  1. Select our Pro PCTG profile for your printer and nozzle.
  2. Go to Calibration > Pressure Advance and print the pattern or tower test.
  3. Enter the cleanest value under Filament settings > Pressure advance and make sure it's enabled.

PrusaSlicer

Use Prusa's pressure advance test for PrusaSlicer. Our profiles are built into PrusaSlicer and are a good starting point. See Prusa notes.

Creality Print

Use Creality Print's built-in pressure advance calibration, then save the value to the Pro PCTG filament preset.

Klipper

Calibrate with OrcaSlicer's test or Klipper's tuning tower. Then set the value in the Pro PCTG filament's start G-code, for example SET_PRESSURE_ADVANCE ADVANCE= followed by your value, so it only applies to this material.

Bowden printers

Bowden setups need much higher pressure advance values than direct drive, and some printers have hard-coded values. If results are inconsistent, calibrate carefully and slow down.
