Drying and Storing Pro PETG

John Schneider

Dry filament is happy filament. Pro PETG, like all PETG, absorbs moisture over time.

Dry before you print

Every spool ships vacuum-sealed with desiccant, and we dry the resin before extruding it. But the filament passes through water baths during production, so a little moisture can remain. We recommend drying any brand's PETG before use.

  • Drying temperature: 65°C
  • Drying time: 8–12 hours

Signs it's wet

  • Popping or hissing at the nozzle
  • Heavy stringing
  • Rough or bubbly surfaces
  • Weak layers or brittle prints

Storage

Store spools in an airtight container with desiccant when they're not in use. A dry box or an AMS with fresh desiccant helps, but it doesn't replace drying a spool that has already absorbed moisture.
