Does Pro PCTG need an enclosed printer?
No. If you have an enclosure, keep it closed; it improves layer bonding.
Why does Pro PCTG take longer to print than PETG?
It's more viscous when molten, so it needs slower speeds and gentler acceleration to bond well and avoid nozzle buildup. See Printing Pro PCTG vs. PETG.
Can I use it outdoors?
Yes. Pro PCTG is more resistant to UV and heat than PETG. See the technical data sheet for property data.
Is it food-safe?
The resin we use is FDA-approved for food contact, but 3D printing itself isn't food-safe. Layer gaps can trap bacteria, so use a food-safe coating.
Will it stick to PLA?
No, which is why PLA works as a breakaway support interface on multi-nozzle printers.
Will 3D-Fuel spools work in my AMS?
Yes. Our 1 kg spools are tested in the AMS, AMS 2 Pro, and AMS HT. Spool sizes and weights.
Should I anneal it?
We don't recommend it. See Designing for strength.
How do I glue Pro PCTG parts?
Epoxy is strongest. See our adhesive test.
Is PCTG the same as PC?
No. PCTG is a co-polyester; PC is polycarbonate. Don't select PC on your printer.
