Colors and Specialty Finishes: Clear, Metallic, Fluorescent, and Glow

John Schneider

Standard PLA+ comes in 40 colors. Most print the same way, but a few specialty colors have quirks worth knowing.

Color matching

Each product page lists the display hex code and the closest Pantone® match for every color. Colors can look slightly different on different screens.

Natural (clear)

Natural is uncolored PLA, so it's translucent rather than glass-clear. For the clearest results, print slower and slightly hotter, use more walls instead of infill, and keep the spool dry.

Metallic colors

Metallic Copper, Metallic Gold, and Metallic Silver contain shimmer pigments. The metallic effect looks best on smooth, glossy surfaces, so the same temperature and speed advice that gives a glossy finish applies here.

Fluorescent colors

Fluorescent Green, Orange, and Yellow look brightest under UV or "black" light. They print like any other color.

Glow-in-the-Dark

  • Charge it with strong UV light. Ordinary room light gives a faint glow.
  • Glow brightness and duration have a ceiling. A faint, short glow after weak charging is normal.
  • Thicker walls and more solid layers store more light and glow longer.

ReFuel recycled PLA

ReFuel is our recycled PLA. It's the same grade as virgin Standard PLA+, so the same settings and profiles apply.
