- Slow down. Stringing and zits usually come from speed.
- Dry the filament. Moisture is the other common cause. See Drying and storage.
- Calibrate pressure advance, and enable wipe while retracting and retract on layer change.
- Lower nozzle temperature 5–10°C if you're at the top of the range.
- Small parts and stringing tests: increase minimum layer time so each layer cools before the next goes down.
Long strings off supports
These usually aren't stringing. Support lines printed too fast don't bond, so later layers print in the air. Slow supports to about 60 mm/s and support interfaces to about 50 mm/s. See Supports and PLA breakaway interfaces.
Strings on the nozzle after wiping
Make sure automatic flow calibration isn't overriding your profile, and that the nozzle wiper is in good condition.
