Start Here: The 5 Essentials for Printing Pro PETG

John Schneider

Pro PETG is our all-purpose PETG, made in Fargo from 100% virgin PETG resin. It prints nearly as easily as PLA, with better heat and impact resistance, strong layer bonds, almost no warping, and very little odor. Get these five things right and most prints come out clean.

  1. Print hotter than many PETGs. Our range is 245–265°C. If your prints look matte or rough, go hotter. See Pro PETG settings.
  2. Heat the bed to 70–80°C.
  3. Dry it before you print. Even a new, vacuum-sealed spool can carry a little moisture from production. Dry at 65°C for 8–12 hours. See Drying and storage.
  4. Calibrate pressure advance and flow. It makes a big difference with PETG. See Why pressure advance matters.
  5. Don't push it too fast. If you see under-extrusion or a matte finish, lower your maximum volumetric speed or raise the temperature. See Matte, rough, or weak prints.
